MEASURE Career-Readiness Growth: Assessments

Career-Ready Assessment

Each Career Essentials curriculum consists of a pre-assessment, taken before the instructional course to measure the learner’s beginning proficiency in career-readiness skills, and a post-assessment, taken after the instructional course. When the pre-assessment and post-assessment scores are compared, instructors can quantify learner growth in career-readiness competencies and better articulate the benefit of their programs to stakeholders.

The Career-Ready Assessment (pre- and post-) consists of 50 randomly assigned questions that are mostly scenario-based. The questions are designed to assess the students’ proficiency in the SkillsUSA Framework competencies. If desired, the Career-Ready Assessment can be ordered separately from of a Career Essentials curriculum order.

Technical Assessments

SkillsUSA also offers assessments for career and technical education that are supported and developed by industry, education and policy leaders.

Available in more than 40 technical and employability areas, including co-branded ones with ASE/AYES and PrintED/ GAERF, the assessments offer a reliable evaluation of technical knowledge and skills. Assessments are supported by an online  system that makes administration simple. They are designed for end-of-unit, end of- course or end-of-program use, depending on the design of your curriculum. Each assessment consists of approximately 50 questions and takes an estimated 60 minutes to complete. Questions are delivered in random order.
